As we have seen from previous occasions and visitors to Timberlog, our residents always appreciate live music and entertainment. This month they were in for a treat, as we had a visit from a fabulous five piece band called S.T.A.G. who reformed in their retirement in order to give something back to the community. Not only does one of the band teach guitar in a Billericay school, but they travel around Essex performing in care homes and supported houses.

To the delight of the residents, they set up in the lounge and soon had everyone’s toes tapping and hands clapping as singer Vic Russell belted out a series of rock numbers from the 60s through to the present day. We sang along to classics from the likes of the Beatles, the Stones, the Beach Boys and numerous other artists.

After our private concert, the band joined us for a well-deserved cup of tea, sandwiches and cake, while chatting to residents about their musical heroes and favourite numbers. It was a wonderful afternoon and we thank the band for transporting us back to the golden age of rock’n’roll.
