On Saturday 18th November, Octagon held a coffee morning to raise funds for future outings and invited families and neighbours to join us. Several of our residents were visited by their grandchildren and great grandchildren, who for an entry fee of £1, enjoyed tucking into the home made cakes. It was also a chance for us all to celebrate Ted’s 98th birthday – you can see him pictured with one of our friendly volunteers, Lally. Together with a small raffle the event raised £90, so thanks to all who came and supported us.

This month we also got out and about in the community and visited a stylishly refurbished local pub called the Duke of York, for a delicious lunch. All our residents (bar one who was unwell), joined the trip, thanks to the community minibus which enables us to transport the wheelchairs for those who need them. Staff and volunteers also attended and it was such a success that we are planning to return there again in future.
