The Abbeyfield aim is to enable our residents to happily live in comfort and security, enjoying the things they love, for longer. This is certainly the case for our oldest resident Kitty, who this month celebrated her 104th birthday, with plenty of her favourite tipple, champagne!
Of course this special event was just what we needed to liven up a dreary January and give us a reason to have fun. Residents, staff, a volunteer and close friend of Kitty’s, all took a trip to the Duke of York pub for a fabulous birthday lunch to mark the momentous occasion.
What’s more, we extended the festivities to the weekend by putting on a special Saturday afternoon tea. This enabled Kitty to celebrate in style, surrounded her close family, lifelong friends, residents and friends of Abbeyfield. It was a wonderful party for a lovely lady, complete with a beautiful cake supplied by Kitty’s son.
