After a busy Christmas, our residents have had a relatively quiet month, this January. Many people make resolutions to be healthier at this time of year, but we ensure this is a constant practice with our weekly chair yoga sessions. This gentle exercise, which may include forward bend, extended side angle and ‘candle’ poses, benefits residents including those with mobility issues, by improving strength, flexibility and proprioception, which can help reduce falls.

As well as keeping our bodies healthy, one of our friendly volunteers has been helping to exercise minds by challenging residents to games of scrabble. However, treats are definitely still firmly on the menu with our weekly cake making sessions, This week it was classic sponge decorated with butter icing and butterflies – yum!
