They say that the kitchen is the heart of the home and certainly at Abbeyfield it plays a very important role in the lives of our residents. Not only is it where all our delicious, home cooked meals are made, featuring traditional favourites chosen by residents, but they themselves get involved with cooking via our popular weekly baking sessions.
This meant that while the planned Timberlog kitchen refurbishment was exciting and awaited with great anticipation, there was also a touch of trepidation about what would be involved. However, we needn’t have worried, as all went well and as you can see from the before and after pictures, it was well worth the effort for the fresh, bright result – perfect for Spring and new beginnings!
Well done to Timberlog staff who kept things going in the meantime by utilising the lounge and dining area to maintain our usual service. What’s more, the kitchen was completed in time for us to cook up a fabulous Easter feast and residents also resumed their baking with gusto – making and decorating Easter cakes.
