It was back to school for us at Timberlog this month, as we learnt about looking after our water and protecting our sewers.

Some people from the water board came in to talk to the residents about the impact of blocked drains. Curiosity clearly got the better of everyone because we had all 11 residents at the talk.

It definitely made us stop and think about what we can do to help; like not flushing baby wipes down the toilet or tipping fat and food scraps down the sink. Even some toilet paper doesn’t breakdown and flush properly, which can lead to blockages.

Toilet talk aside, the residents have enjoyed weekly baking sessions, monthly chair yoga, and scrabble. The scrabble is organised by a volunteer who comes in every fortnight and the residents really enjoy it. The volunteers enable us to offer residents activities like these, so we’re really lucky.
