Despite the wet weather that June threw at us, the rain held off for our annual garden party. The party is a chance for our residents and their families, to socialise and raise money for the house.

We enjoyed some great entertainment, curtesy of a girl who came along to sing for us. She has a beautiful voice and the whole day was enjoyed by all. Drinks, a buffet and a raffle concluded the day.

On days when the weather hasn’t been so kind, we’ve continued to do our Sunday baking classes. Plus avoiding the rain by taking part in our regular scrabble and games sessions.

Studies have shown that playing scrabble can keep the mind stimulated and engaged, and it can strengthen the brain. So, we’re very grateful to our volunteer who keeps this going for us.

Thanks to the money raised at the garden party, we’re all looking forward to going out for lunch next month to The Shephard and Dog. We’ll tell you all about it next time.
